St. Joseph Catholic School utilizes the PowerSchool Parent Portal in grades three through eight to serve as a platform to communicate between the student's home and the classroom. This online tool records student grades and academic information. Student demographic information and emergency care details are stored and updated through this platform. Logins and access information to the portal is sent home to each family. Please Note: Each family (K-8) is expected to use the Parent Portal platform to record and update demographics, emergency care, and permissions waivers.
Parent Portal grades are available to parents of students in grades 3-8. Parents and teachers have access to current information regarding student progress and academics. This feature allows parents to view their child’s performance as recorded in their teacher’s gradebooks. Parent Portal grades are open for students in grades three through eight. Since current grades and attendance are readily available, students in these grades will no longer receive a quarterly interim/progress report. Formal report cards will be distributed at the end of each quarter for students in grades one through eight and students in Kindergarten will receive a formal report card at the end of the first semester and at the end of the school year. Parents update demographic and personal information through the Parent Portal. Parents are responsible for monitoring student progress at least twice a quarter in order to assure curriculum standards are met.Teachers are available to parents throughout the school year to keep the lines of communication open in the best interest of the students. Parent-teacher conferences are held school-wide at the end of the first grading period, and can be scheduled throughout the school year as necessary. Parents should first privately email a teacher with any concerns about a student or class concerns before seeking intervention by the school administration.
