Call for Science Fair Judges (no experience necessary)

Register to act as a SJS Science Fair Judge

For all new and veteran judges, we thank you and want you to know how much your service to St. Joseph School is appreciated. We will need between 80 and 90 judges in order for the 125 7th and 8th grade students to each be scored by three judges. A new judge training session will be held before the fair to explain everything you will need to know to judge the projects. Please see the about page for additional information. We are looking forward to another great Science Fair!

Role of Judges:

Prior to the fair you will be assigned approximately 5 projects that you will review and score the night of the fair. You will have access to written abstracts of the students’ experiments also prior to the night of the fair so that you may prepare questions to ask the student during the presentation. A standard score sheet is provided to the judge for each project. You will be able to review the presentation board and then hear the students’ oral presentations. Student projects will be judged by at least 3 judges, so your score will be averaged with two others. Learn More
