SJS Holds Election to Determine Official Sweet Treat of Our Saints

Good morning, my name is Justin Fair, and I am the moderator for the 2016 SJS election debate. We have both candidates here with us today and they are going to try to convince the voters of St. Joseph School why they deserve to be our school’s official sweet treat.

Running for the Green Party is Miss Chocolate Chip Cookie!
Miss Chocolate Chip Cookie:
I am proud that the voters chose me, Miss Cookie, in the primary election. I feel that I am the candidate who best represents all the students. Just like you, I am an amazing combination of wonderful qualities. You can enjoy the subtle flavor of my crumbly cookie, while you wait for the awesome surprise of biting into my chocolate chips! Don’t forget that, like you, I come in many varieties. I can be a cookie with milk chocolate or dark chocolate chips. Sometimes I can have nuts, but never when I am with my student friends with allergies! So when you are looking for yummy surprises, variety, and an American classic cookie taste, VOTE CHOCOLATE CHIP!

Mr. Brownie:
I certainly would like to respond to my opponent’s comments. Without a doubt, the intelligent voters of Saint Joseph  School will give me, Mr. Brownie, points for being the solid, traditional, candidate. No brownie needs to stoop to appealing for votes based upon silly surprises and shallow variety. My opponent seems to think that sensible voters don’t want to know exactly what they will taste when they have chosen their official sweet treat. Ridiculous! I stand for honest chocolate yumminess, through and through! With Mr. Brownie, there is no need to wait to be “surprised” by the superior taste of chocolate. Indeed, although I may have a slightly crusty exterior, my heart is sweet and gooey. So if you like to know what you are going to get, and know that you will love it, VOTE FOR ME, BROWNIE!

Brownie won with an overwhelming number of our class electoral votes! Each class represented a state with that state's corresponding electoral votes (based roughly on class size). All classes will be provided with the official SJS Sweet Treat on Thursday, January 19th!
