Beginning in 1998, St. Joseph School established the “Family Support Program” to coordinate support efforts for SJS families during times of need, whether due to sickness, the loss of a family member, or even a joyous occasion like the celebration of a new child.
The SJS Family Support Program generally seeks to provide spiritual and physical nourishment and support, be it through prayer, Mass Cards, sympathy or celebration cards, meals, babysitting or carpool assistance. We work together to attempt to provide the temporary needs that a family may experience during our year together. These “times of need” can be most difficult, especially when your extended family lives out of the area and are not easily available to help. We want you to know that SJS is your extended family and would like to be there for you. Each class has a Family Support Coordinator and a system in place to provide some measure of assistance to you at these most difficult times.
Throughout the year, we may call upon you to assist us with some of the tasks listed above. Please know that when we call, this is a completely voluntary program. If you are unable to assist at the time you are asked, please just let us know. Also, should you become aware of a special situation within your class (such as a death, illness, birth/adoption) that you feel the family would appreciate our assistance, or you need help yourself, please contact us to let us know.
Rest assured all requests for personal information will be kept confidential.
