ead The Lonely Moose by John Sega-The story of a grumpy moose who was always alone. One day, a bird begins to be nice to the moose and the two become close friends. The moose learns that being kind is a great way to make friends and be happy.
After reading the book, the students reflect on why kindness is important and how we can show kindness at school.
Discussion Questions:
Students will complete the We can be kind like ‘The Lonely Moose’ worksheet in which they illustrate an act of kindness.
Grade 2-

We will discuss different examples of kindness and then each student will create their own "quilt square" using scrap book paper.

Grades 2-4: PPT slides "Who is our counselor?": Students will learn more about the job of a counselor through reading “Mrs. Joyce Gives the Best High Fives” by Erainna Winnett. Students will complete an "about me" handout that will help me gain information about each student.

Grades 5-8: PPT slides "Who is our counselor?" Students will learn the role of a school counselor and the reasons they can request a meeting with me. They will take a short Quiz on what they learned and will complete an "about me" worksheet to help me get to know them better.
