Your candy donation helps to fill the Mattie Miracle free snack cart for families caring for a child with cancer or other life threatening illness at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and Children’s Hospital at Sinai in Baltimore.
Last year we collected 10,000 pounds of candy.
The snack carts circulate around the pediatric units three times a week. Carts are greeted with appreciation
and thanks since many families are unable to leave their child in order to meet their basic needs.
The Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Public Charity (EIN: 27-1238358), founded by Peter and Victoria Brown, in the loving memory of Mattie, their seven year-old son who passed away in 2009, after a 14 month battle with multi-focal osteosarcoma. Mattie Miracle is dedicated to addressing the psychosocial needs of children and families living with childhood cancer as well as educating health care providers on the impact of such a diagnosis on children and their families.
