Dear Parents,
We invite all SJS parents to join us for our first PTO Meeting of 2018 which will be held on Wednesday, January 10. We are excited to have as our guest speaker Larisa Perez deGraffenreid, LCSW of Family Compass. Ms. deGraffenreid is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and has a special interest in Mindfulness Training. Ms. deGraffenreid provides a wide range of therapeutic services including group therapy, individual and family therapy for school age children and teens, as well as marital and family therapy for couples.
Ms. deGraffenreid’s presentation will explore the evolutionary roots of anxiety, why it has become so epidemic in this society, and what we, as parents, can to do create a balanced, grounded perspective for ourselves and our families, and set up a playful frame to empower our children to step through fear in the direction of their goals and values.
