Since the beginning of the Pandemic, Mrs. Farrell and Mrs. Henry have been hosting regularly-scheduled parent zoom meetings for each grade level. These meetings have taken the place of our in-person coffee and are open to all St. Joseph's parents as a way to connect and talk about general concerns.
In the past year, parents have shared creative ideas& support and have had a chance to welcome new families throught these informal meetings. Zoom links have been shared via email through the class lists, but if you would like to attend and are unsure of the date/time for your child's grade level please contact us: p.farrell@sjschoolva.org (grades 5-8) or b.henry@sjschoolva.org (grades K-4).
Each month St. Joseph Catholic School parents are invited to attend a Friday morning coffee with our principal, Mrs. Denise Rutledge and one of our counselors, Mrs. Patty Farrell or Mrs. Beth Henry. This is an informal chat that includes information on a topic chosen to support our students' social, emotional and spiritual growth.
Some of the topics that we've discussed this year include: developing healthy friendships; teaching our children to grow in gratitude; avoiding the dangers of vaping, social-emotional learning skills and resilience.
Our meetings begin after morning carpool ends and we finish in time to attend school Mass with our students. Please join us--we enjoy the opportunity to get to know you and your concerns!
