My SJS Experience

Hello, my name is Cecy and I am in eighth grade at St. Joseph School. At SJS, I have excelled to all my potential and have received the opportunity through the many classes provided.
I have been attending since kindergarten and have loved it ever since. In my eight years of attending SJS, I feel as if I have become closer to my classmates and we have become one big family. We have grown together as a class and learned from each other.
One of my favorite things about SJS is all the special classes that are given here. In art class, we are taught different styles of art and techniques using all kinds of materials. In music class, we learn how to sing and prepare a song for the Christmas concert held every year. We have the best gym where students play all kinds of sports including basketball, handball, hockey, soccer and lacrosse. We also have a Spanish program given to grades first through eighth several times a week. Finally, our school library is filled with great books for all ages.

But in this school, we are always trying to get closer to God.

In Second grade, students are prepared to have their First Penance and receive the Eucharist. In seventh and eighth grade, they are prepared for Confirmation. Here, I received my First Penance, First Communion, and in a few months I will be confirmed. With all the preparation given to us in receiving the sacraments, SJS has helped me grow in my faith.

Every day we are encouraged to do the best we can do and achieve our goals. My goal for this year is to get acceptance to the high school of my choice by keeping my grades up. And with the teachers and education given at this school, I am very sure I can achieve my goal!
